How to Calculate GST Online
Our GST Calculator helps individuals, shop owners, freelancers and accountants work out Goods and Services Tax in seconds, without needing a manual formula or spreadsheet. Simply choose whether your amount already includes GST or not, pick a GST rate, and get an instant, accurate breakdown of the taxable amount, CGST, SGST, IGST and total amount.
GST Exclusive Calculation (Add GST to Amount)
When you have the base price of a product or service and want to know the final price after tax, use GST Exclusive mode. The formula is: GST Amount = Taxable Amount × GST Rate ÷ 100, and Total Amount = Taxable Amount + GST Amount. For example, on a taxable amount of ₹10,000 at 18% GST, the GST works out to ₹1,800, making the total payable ₹11,800.
GST Inclusive Calculation (Remove GST / Reverse GST)
If you already have a final price that includes GST and want to find the original taxable amount, use GST Inclusive mode — this also works as a reverse GST calculator. The formula is: Taxable Amount = Inclusive Amount × 100 ÷ (100 + GST Rate). For example, ₹11,800 at 18% GST breaks down into a taxable amount of ₹10,000 and GST of ₹1,800.
CGST, SGST and IGST Explained
For sales within the same state, GST is split equally into CGST (Central GST) and SGST (State GST) — each being exactly half of the total GST rate. For sales between different states or on imports, the full amount is charged as IGST (Integrated GST) instead. This calculator automatically switches between the two based on the GST type you select.
Common GST Rate Slabs in India
The most commonly used GST rates in India are 0%, 0.25%, 3%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, applied depending on the category of goods or services. This free GST calculator supports every official slab plus a custom GST rate for special cases.
